One of my friends in secondary school was mad about cars. His favourite car was a BMW. He made fun of my father’s car, a Peugeot 504. I tried to stand up for the Peugeot but lost most arguments as his knowledge of cars far outstripped mine.
To change that, there was only one thing for it: I started reading everything about cars in general and Peugeot in particular. And thus started a lifelong obsession with cars.
I don’t get the chance very often but love to visit car shows. The last one was the 2016 Paris show, Mondial de l’Automobile, one of the top car shows in the world held every two years, except 2020 for obvious reasons. (In 2016 my wife visited Musée d’Orsay while I was admiring cars – somehow she does not share my enthusiasm).
This is my own car. A Peugeot of course!
